A Study on the Needs of Home Visiting Physical Therapy

Abstract

|
This study was performed to investigate the degree of demand of home visiting physical therapy for people with chronic illnesses. The study subjects were located in 3 welfare centers located in Cheong-ju from June 2 to July 3, 2008. The total number of distributed questionnaires was 120 and 100 questionnaires were collected and analysed. The results were as follows: 1) 65% of subjects showed that physical therapy was needed. 2) No significant difference in the need of home visiting was found between both groups: 78.9% of males and 73.3% of females (p>0.05). 3) 82.2% of under 65 yr old and 70.4% of over 65 yr old subjects showed a significant difference in the need for home visiting physical therapy (p<0.05). 4) Two groups who did not show a positive significant difference in the need for home visiting physical therapy was 73.6% of subjects with an illness and 81.5% of subjects without an illness (p>0.05). 5). Two groups who did not show a positive significant difference in the need of home visiting physical therapy was 93.8% of subjects with no clinic near their residence and 72% of subjects with a clinic near their residence (p> 0.05).
